In May of 1997, this project was organized by Jeff Murphy, using the established KY Biographies Project as a model. State coordinators were sought to set up their own stake project. They were offered the system design and tools created for the KY project, but were free to set up their in anyway they chose.

I am Alan Jones and I am the coordinator for Sussex Co., New Jersey. Volunteers are needed to enter, edit and archive the biographies for each project. If you have biographies you would like to donate for Sussex County please contact me, Alan Jones. The biographies will initially all be in a single file. This will allow visitors to use the search or find capability of their web browser to find any references to people who might be mentioned in others' biographies.
Biographies need to comply with standards set up for this website so that they can be consistent and used effectively.
Please Note, that while it is great to have such material as these written biographies, these are both riddled with errors. They are a great source in which to start with or add color to your family history but, you must check each fact.
